Aaron Lieberman served in the Arizona House from 2019 to 2021, then quit in the middle of his term to run for governor. Now he wants District 4's seat in the State Senate.

Taxes

  • Voted no on the 2019 tax package that lowered income-tax rates for Arizona families.2
  • Voted no on cutting the state property-tax rate in 2020.3
  • Voted no on the historic 2021 flat tax, which cut income taxes to a single 2.5% rate for every Arizonan.4

Teachers and schools

  • Voted no on the state K-12 budgets in 2019 and 2020, including the 2019 budget that paid for teachers' second 5% raise.5
  • Urged voters to reject Proposition 305 in 2018 and keep more families out of school choice.6
  • Voted no on SB 1224 in 2020, which strengthened oversight of the ESA program and widened eligibility.7

Paying politicians more

  • Voted yes to triple the taxpayer-funded daily allowance for lawmakers from outside Maricopa County.8
  • Voted yes to raise salaries for county elected officials.9

Girls' sports

  • Voted no on HB 2706 in 2020, which would have kept biological males off girls' and women's school sports teams.10

Accountability

  • In 2010, federal auditors found the Head Start program run by his company, Acelero, could not adequately account for federal funds and charged costs that were unallowable.11
  • Quit the Legislature in the middle of his term to run for governor, a run he later called "spectacularly unsuccessful."12
